Task

Task 1: Create a Virtual machine in the Azure portal

Your Virtual machine should have The name of the resource group should be your name_studentID. Use an image as Ubuntu Server 18.04 LTS. Administrator account should be SSH public key. SSH public should be generated by using putty_gen. Copy the generated public key and paste it in the SSH public key. (download putty and putty_gen from the link given below. Please learn how to create public and private keys) Save the key by clicking on save private key and save it on .ppk format(Please follow the link: www.ssh.com) Make sure HTPPS and HTTP and SSH virtual machine network ports are accessible from the public Internet.

Task 2: Connect via SSH

Download PuTTY from the PuTTY website. Host name is provided in your VM in the format asd@20.36.34.16 and Port is 22. Provide a private key generated on the previous step on the SSH-->Auth-->Private keyfile for authentication. Click Open and you should get the screen as shown below.

Submission Criteria:

The report should have a consistent, professional, and well-organized appearance with 12-point font size and at least single line spacing with appropriate section headings. Your report should include the following: The cover page must identify student names and the ID numbers, unit details, assignment details and lecturer details. Screens-shots of each step you come across and the description.
**note: the resource group should be your name_studentID The report must be submitted in soft (electronic) copy as a Microsoft Word document on the LMS in Turnitin dropbox. Assignments submitted on the LMS will only be accepted. Late penalty applies on late submission, 10% per day would be deducted. The assignments will go through Turnitin and plagiarism penalty will be applied.
